William Bennett Nordgren has always loved solving problems and improving processes. Attending Brigham Young University, he earned a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in 1986 and 1989, respectively. He commenced his career during his graduate studies as an engineer at The Boeing Company in Seattle for two years, and subsequently served as the president of CIM Engineering Associates in Orem, Utah, for one year. After obtaining a master’s degree, he held the role of vice president of engineering at Production Modeling Corporation for four years and president of F&H Simulations, Inc., for nine years.

Since 2002, Mr. Nordgren has been the owner, chief executive officer and president of FlexSim Software Products, Inc., the manufacturer of FlexSim simulation software that models systems in manufacturing, material handling, health care, warehousing and logistics, among other areas. Integrating  user-friendly interfaces, the FlexSim simulation system is also used by experienced programmers who can modify object parameters using FlexScript and C++ languages. The company has offices in more than 30 countries.

Alongside his primary endeavors, Mr. Nordgren has served as an adjunct professor of graduate simulation at Brigham Young University. In addition, he was the co-author of “Applied Simulation: Modeling and Analysis Using FlexSim,” published in 2011. The proud developer of polar coordinant mill and dryfork 3D presentation software, Mr. Nordgren maintains affiliation with several organizations, including the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers, and the industrial advisory board of Brigham Young University.

Married to Carolyn B. Erickson since 1981, Mr. Nordgren is the proud father of three children. In his spare time, he enjoys fishing, camping and playing sports. Looking toward the future, Mr. Nordgren will continue developing his business and delving further into the field of health care, performing simulation of patient flow and optimization for hospitals and clinics.
