Drawing on more than 20 years of professional excellence, John K. Fleck is celebrated in the academic and business spaces. Since 2025, he has thrived as a bookkeeper with FleckKeepsBooks, a bookkeeping business that has enabled Mr. Fleck to use his QuickBooks skills to serve his community’s business needs. To augment his professional repertoire, he holds certifications as a QuickBooks ProAdvisor at levels 1 and 2, as well as in QuickBooks Payroll.

Similarly, Mr. Fleck has served as a school counselor within the Somers Central School District since 2005, where he has worked with students at both the middle school and high school levels. He has worked with a diverse student body comprised of students with a range of scholarly and emotional needs, including children with autism and Down syndrome. Throughout his career in education, Mr. Fleck has become well-regarded for his expertise in school counseling and adolescent development. Furthermore, he has privately consulted with high school students on the college admissions process and has served as an educational consultant for middle and high school students since 2015.

Highly educated, Mr. Fleck holds a Bachelor of Arts in history from Haverford College, which he earned in 1999, and a Master of Education in counseling psychology from Columbia University, awarded in 2005. Moreover, Mr. Fleck holds a permanent certificate in school counseling through the New York State Department of Education.

Outside of his primary commitments, Mr. Fleck was twice elected to serve three-year terms as the regional governor for Westchester, Putnam and Rockland Counties on the executive board of the New York State School Counselor Association, where he facilitated professional development opportunities and represented local concerns at the state level. Mr. Fleck has also been affiliated with the Westchester Putnam Rockland Counseling Association, serving on its board of trustees and as a state liaison to the New York State School Counselor Association.

Looking ahead, Mr. Fleck aims to leverage innovative technologies to expand college counseling services beyond the Northeast and connect with students worldwide. He would also like to expand FleckKeepsBooks’ scope to serve a broader client base.
