Clayton Johnson is distinguished in the energy sector for his expertise in emerging technologies and project management. Since 2019, he has excelled as a systems and development analyst II at the MidAmerican Energy Company in Davenport, Iowa, where his responsibilities include supporting customer service phone systems and automation, programming and troubleshooting phone systems, coordinating with carriers, managing call flow from the IVR to agents, and overseeing projects within the company’s customer service department. Demonstrating exceptional expertise in these fields, Mr. Johnson possesses more than 15 years of experience.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Johnson served with the MidAmerican Energy Company in several capacities. Joining the organization in 2010 as an ACD systems administrator, he subsequently transitioned to the position of unified IP analyst II in 2017, where he remained until assuming his current role. During his longstanding tenure, he honed his plethora of skills in resolving issues, managing escalations and updating software. Prior to these appointments, he served as a senior hardware technician at Pomeroy Technologies LLC between 2007 and 2010 and was a professor at the Eastern Iowa Community College District.
Holding a myriad of certifications from Genesys and LinkedIn, Mr. Johnson first received an Associate of Science in management information systems from MacMurray College in 1988. In addition, since earning his degree, he has lent his wealth of knowledge to publications, having been featured as the first “Humans of MidAmerican Energy” in the monthly “Power Source” newsletter of the MidAmerican Energy Company. In the newsletter, Mr. Johnson notably shared his insights on balancing professional work with personal interests.
In his spare time, Mr. Johnson volunteers with several local organizations. He has been recognized as the director of music ministry at Metropolitan Community Church of the Quad Cities in Davenport since 1998. Looking toward the future, he has strong ambitions to continue disseminating his breadth of expertise through instructing and publishing creative works.
