Entrepreneurship

Well-versed in construction services, Sean Dalle is a proven leader in his industry. Since 2016, he has excelled as the founder and managing partner at Datum Commercial Contracting, LLC. Based in Austin, Texas, the construction business specializes in commercial buildings, such as Planet Fitness, Altitude Trampoline Parks and Tommy’s Car Washes locations. Establishing the business in 2016, Mr. Dalle had $8 million in revenue. Currently, as of 2023, the business has grown exponentially to $85 million. During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Datum Commercial Contracting expanded its services from interior finishing to ground-up contracting. Notably, it is a commercial general contractor licensed from Seattle to Florida with approximately 40 employees.

As founder and managing partner, Mr. Dalle is responsible for the daily operations of the business, as well as the interview and hiring process. To this end, he maintains responsibility for the timeline of their construction services, overseeing their schedule and aligning all parties’ expectations from clients to subcontractors. Prior to this appointment, Mr. Dalle was an estimator, project manager and superintendent at Drolette Contraction Inc. from 2012 to 2016. Impressively, during his tenure at the organization, he doubled the business’ sales volume from $12 million to $25 million. He has been involved in the commercial construction industry since 1993 and began performing construction work at the age of 14. In this regard, Mr. Dalle has always been an entrepreneur, seeking the best for himself and his family.

Mr. Dalle attributes his success to his ability to learn from his mistakes and accept criticism. Over the course of his career, he has worked diligently to recognize his weaknesses to better himself and practice self-awareness. He also credits the good individuals with whom he surrounds himself as factors in his success. Although he has experienced several career achievements, Mr. Dalle is particularly proud of hiring and witnessing the success of those he hired with little experience, such as college graduates. He is also gratified by the success of his children.

In the coming years, Mr. Dalle intends to ease into a well-deserved retirement with plans to sell the company to two of his employees. However, before that time, he aims to continue serving others in a consulting capacity. In addition, he endeavors to be more deeply involved in volunteer work in his community.
