Intrigued by the social sciences from a formative age, Richard Theodore Lindholm, Ph.D., has always been interested in how diverse cultures of the world interacted with one another, particularly the intertwining of cultures as well as the disparities between them. Utilizing several different languages, during his graduate studies, he sought to learn more about Dr. William H. McNeill, an acclaimed historian and author who is prominent for his argument that contact and exchange among civilizations is what drives human history forward. Since earning his doctoral degree, Dr. Lindholm has been applying his vast wealth of knowledge of culture, economics and history to his professional endeavors.
Commencing his career as a partner of Lindholm & Osanka in Eugene, OR, in 1986, Dr. Lindholm went on to serve in the same capacity for Lindholm Research between 1995 and 2001, soon becoming the owner of the research company, a position he holds in the present day. In addition to these responsibilities, he has been the owner of both The Lindholm Company and DBA Lindholm Research since 1995. Conducting research in the social sciences, he has always valued the importance of research and its application to the developing world.
Since 1988, Dr. Lindholm has also served as the president of the Rubicon Institute and an adjunct assistant professor at the University of Oregon. A former guest lecturer at the National Institute of Development Administration in Bangkok, Thailand, in 1989, he has also remained civically involved throughout his tenure.
