Backed by many decades of invaluable experience, Dr. Linwood H. Random Jr. has established himself as a prominent leader in construction and architecture. Dr. Ransom commenced his career in the construction division for the state of South Carolina’s Housing Authority. There, he garnered the expertise which led to him providing consulting services through the Ransom Group from 1989 to 2016. After years of cementing his status as a major figure in the industry, he established Linwood H. Enterprises, a prominent consulting firm.

In the late 1950s, Dr. Ransom was recruited by the U.S. Army. He served as a second lieutenant field officer in 1959, and 20 years later, he rose to the rank of lieutenant colonel. A dedicated veteran, he is an active member of Disabled American Veterans, an organization intent on providing free assistance to veterans and their families, as well as fighting for the interests of injured warriors.

Dr. Linwood received a bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering from Hampton University, which was then called the Hampton Institute in Virginia. He went on to earn a master’s degree in education from South Carolina State University in 1972, and returned a few years later to obtain a Ph.D. in 1979.

Recognized for his hard work, dedication and significant industry contributions, Dr. Linwood was recently presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award.
