For more than 40 years, Edward J. McCambridge, Esq., has been contributing to the field of law. Currently, he practices via Segal McCambridge Singer and Mahoney Ltd., a nationwide firm that offers legal services in a multitude of areas, including construction litigation and counseling, education and environmental law, municipal defense, product and premises liability, and more. Mr. McCambridge co-founded the firm in 1986 and has since served as a partner and its corporate secretary. He also serves on the firm’s executive committee. Mr. McCambridge concentrates his practice on complex tort litigation, with a focus on toxic tort and product liability actions. He has extensive trial experience in toxic tort and asbestos, as well as automobile, product premises and sports liability litigation. Mr. McCambridge’s bar admissions include the states of Michigan and Illinois, as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. He is also admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Wisconsin, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri, the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan, and the United States District Courts for the Central, Northern and Southern Districts of Illinois.
Prior to establishing his firm, Mr. McCambridge held a position as a partner, attorney and corporate secretary for Epton, Mullen, Segal & Druth. He then held a post as a partner and attorney for Lurie, Sklar & Simon. Passionate about his chosen field, Mr. McCambridge is a member of the board of directors of the Asbestos Property Damage Group. He has served in this role since 1983. Formerly, he served as a president and chairman of the board for the city of Chicago’s Asbestos Defense Group. Mr. McCambridge maintains affiliation with the Defense Research Institute, Illinois Defense Counsel, Union League Club, Litigation Counsel of America, American Law Registry, Lawyers Club of Chicago, Illinois State Bar Association and Michigan State Bar Association.
After receiving a Bachelor of Science from the University of St. Thomas in 1971, Mr. McCambridge went on to earn a Juris Doctor from The John Marshall Law School in 1975. Since entering the field, he has contributed to several book chapters. Mr. McCambridge has consistently been honored for his many achievements. Furthermore, he was included in the 10th Edition (pub. 1998) of Marquis Who’s Who in American Law and published in Leading Lawyers in Illinois. Additionally, he has been listed among the Illinois Super Lawyers, was an honoree among the Top Attorney’s in Illinois and was the recipient of a fellowship from the Litigation Counsel of America.
