M. Lane Harvey is a civil litigator with more than 40 years of experience. He has a stellar reputation in the successful representation of clients, and for more than 20 years has been a recipient of the AV® Preeminent™ Martindale-Hubbell® Award for Ethical and Legal Ability, with an overall rating of 5.0-out-of-5.0. Moreover, Mr. Harvey was named a Leading Illinois Attorney in family law with the recommendation of his peers, a distinction held by fewer than 8% of Illinois attorneys. Mr. Harvey has also been named a Lawyer of Distinction and a Super Lawyer in Illinois, an honor extended to only 5% of the lawyers in the state.
A fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, Mr. Harvey earned a Bachelor of Science from Murray State University in 1972 and a J.D. from the University of Kentucky in 1974. He is admitted to practice with the United States Court of Appeals in the Seventh Circuit, the State of Illinois, and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Illinois. Mr. Harvey began his career in the legal industry as an associate at Hanagan & Dousman in Mount Vernon, Illinois, in 1975. Subsequently, he joined Feiger, Quindry, Molt & Harvey and its successive firms as a partner. In 1985, he opened the Law Offices of Morris Lane Harvey. Today, he is senior principal of Harvey Behme & Associates, P.C., where his areas of practice include family law, litigation and appeals, plaintiff’s personal injury, medical malpractice and commercial litigation. Mr. Harvey served as chairman of the Family Law Section Council of the Illinois State Bar Association from 2016 to 2017.
Mr. Harvey is heavily involved with Rotary International, the nonprofit organization that promotes service above self. He served as a past district president from 2014 to 2015. Mr. Harvey has praised Rotary’s efforts to eradicate polio around the world in three years.
