Dr. Evelyn Gonzalez Del Rio drew early inspiration from her mother’s side of the family, who were comprised of several physicians. Coupled with her desire to become a surgeon and help other individuals, she decided to seek a career in the medical field and graduated from Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic with a Doctor of Medicine in 1989. Completing her medical training in 1994, she served as a general pediatrician in private practice in her native Puerto Rico for more than 15 years prior to immigrating to the United States.

Within the United States, Dr. Gonzalez Del Rio served as a pediatrician with the Pine Ridge Indian Health Service in South Dakota between 2014 and 2016. Since 2016, she has excelled as a pediatrician with the Yakama Indian Health Service Clinic in the State of Washington, where she lends her considerable expertise to children and families seeking medical assistance.

In an effort to remain aware of industry developments, Dr. Gonzalez Del Rio has maintained membership with the American Academy of Pediatrics. Alongside her vocational ventures, she also enjoys exercising, writing Spanish poetry, playing the piano and traveling. Impressively, she has traveled to more than 22 European countries and has twice visited the Middle East. She has also traveled across the United States and within Central America.

Dr. Gonzalez Del Rio attributes her success to her bold, outgoing personality and her natural affinity for and drive to accomplish her goals. Looking toward the future, she intends to seek retirement and improve upon her existing poetry-writing and piano-playing skills.
