Brady, P. James 4298232_4004298232 NewsletterA certified public accountant, P. James “Jim” Brady commenced his career as a student at Bryant University. Earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, graduating summa cum laude, he embarked on his professional path with Deloitte & Touche LLP in 1988. Acting with the prestigious firm for the following 27 years as partner until 2015, he then became the chief operating officer of the United States at Grant Thornton LLP, a role he sustained until 2019. Since that time, Mr. Brady has been the vice chair of alliantgroup, LP.

Lending his considerable expertise and experience to civic endeavors, Mr. Brady has been a board member of multiple organizations, including Networked and VisionSpring. A member of the board of trustees of the Chautauqua Institution, he is also an advisory board member of “Bridgei2i” Analytics.

Mr. Brady attributes his success to his overseas assignments. From 1995 to 1998, he was assigned to tasks in Moscow and from 2008 to 2012, he relocated to India. Living abroad, he looks back fondly on those moments. He finds his profession to also be most rewarding, noting that the greatest feeling is recognizing the impact one has made upon other individuals’ lives.

As a testament to his success, Mr. Brady was the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Alumni Award from Bryant University. The advice he can offer other professionals aspiring to work in his field is to boast a passion for helping others. He emphasizes that a large part of business, law and accounting is mentoring others and utilizing professional social skills to convey messages. In five years’ time, Mr. Brady is contemplating on running for U.S. Senate. He would also enjoy participating on more boards as chair and vice chair.
