Eberhard Mueller-Heubach

Eberhard Mueller-Heubach, MD, is a prominent and venerated health care professional who has amassed nearly four decades of professional experience in the field of obstetrics and gynecology. Earning the rank of professor emeritus at Wake Forest University in 2007, he formerly served as a professor of obstetrics-gynecology at the Wake Forest University School of Medicine between 1989 and 2007, as well as chairman of obstetrics-gynecology at the Wake Forest University School of Medicine from 1989 to 2002. Prior to these esteemed appointments, he acted as an associate professor and assistant professor of obstetrics and gynecology at the Magee Women’s Hospital at the University of Pittsburgh between 1975 and 1989. Alongside his primary endeavors, he was the president of the Perinatal Research Society with the Council of University Chairs of Obstetrics and Gynecology from 1998 to 2000.

To prepare for his illustrious career, Dr. Mueller-Heubach earned a Doctor of Medicine at the University of Cologne in Germany in 1966. He subsequently completed an internship at the University of Cologne Women’s Hospital from 1967 to 1968, an internship at the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital from 1968 to 1969, and a research fellowship in reproductive physiology in the department of obstetrics and gynecology at Columbia University from 1969 to 1971. Soon thereafter, he was a resident in obstetrics and gynecology at the Presbyterian Medical Center at Columbia University from 1971 to 1974, thereby earning the rank of chief resident from 1974 to 1975.

Certified in maternal fetal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Inc., Dr. Mueller-Heubach was an editorial board member of Ob-Gyn from 1999 to 2002. Finishing his professional career in 2008, he concluded his profession by giving the opening address at the European Congress of Gynecology and Obstetrics in Lisbon, Portugal. During his retirement, he has indulged in his passions for worldwide travel, the arts and horses, and he lives part of the year in Cologne, Germany.

In recognition of his exceptional contributions to the health care industry, Dr. Mueller-Heubach was named a Marquis Who’s Who Worldwide Humanitarian, Top Educator and Industry Leader in 2018. In addition, he was presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award in 2018.
