Supported by 15 years of professional experience, Jeremy J. Samuelson is well-regarded in the fields of information technology and data science, having lent his expertise to several companies. Since 2023, he has served as a principal data scientist and machine learning engineer specializing in digital identity engineering at Equifax Inc. In his position, he maintains responsibility for identifying fraudulent behavior and scams by learning from data and investigating patterns. Congruent to this role, Mr. Samuelson has also served in numerous key positions in academia as an advisor to the Data Science Advisory Council at Hofstra University, a data science instructor at The University of Texas at Austin, and a data science, machine learning and artificial intelligence instructor at Caltech since 2023.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Samuelson served as a data analyst at Honeywell from 2009 to 2010 and Mana Health from 2010 to 2012. From there, he served as a data scientist at SemanticBits from 2013 to 2014 and at Promontory Financial Group, an IBM Company, from 2014 to 2016. Impressively, he was recognized as a senior data scientist at Vici Capital Partners, LLC from 2016 to 2017, having then served as a lead data scientist at Mastercard from 2017 to 2018.

As his career progressed, Mr. Samuelson also thrived as a principal data scientist at Botster in 2018, a director of data science and analytics at Enhance IT from 2018 to 2020, and a principal data scientist and machine learning engineer at SimpleMachines Inc. in 2020. Before assuming his current role, he was a principal data scientist and machine learning engineer at Endava North America between 2020 and 2023. While tending to his career, Mr. Samuelson earned several certifications, including as an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner and in AWS Certified Machine Learning via Amazon Web Services. He is also certified in accelerated computing with CUDA Python via NVIDIA.

In accounting for his success, Mr. Samuelson credits his commitment to continuous learning and staying abreast of the latest developments in the field. Likewise, he notes that his ability to adapt swiftly to changes has been a crucial factor in his success, leading him to work in a myriad of industries, including health care, finance, logistics, research and fraud detection. Among his many career achievements, he is especially proud of mentoring dozens of individuals in the realm of data science. To wit, several of his former mentees have become principal data scientists for their own teams or companies.

Looking toward the future, Mr. Samuelson aims to transition to a leadership role that will allow him to be recognized as a thought leader in addition to his current qualifications as an industry expert. Married with three children, he enjoys playing the guitar in his spare time.
