Drawing upon nearly 40 years of professional experience, David Reichenbaugh is a recognized figure in the field of law enforcement. To prepare for his career, he studied at the Northwestern School of Police Staff and Command University Traffic Institute. Subsequently, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in criminal justice, with a minor in political science, from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1980.

For the length of his career, Mr. Reichenbaugh served as a lieutenant for the Maryland State Police until retiring from his prominent role. Since that time, he has served as an analyst and advisor for the U.S. Capitol Police, where he maintains responsibility for reviewing criminal and traffic reports, preparing cases for court procedures and tracking crime patterns in the region. At the height of his service, he served as a member of the team that investigated the D.C. sniper attacks. Following the event, he authored “In Pursuit: The Hunt for the Beltway Snipers” in 2018.

Although he has experienced numerous career highlights, Mr. Reichenbaugh is particularly proud to have saved a young woman from a car wreck during his early years as a state trooper. Several months later, he was afforded the honor of pushing her wheelchair down the aisle as she earned her high school diploma. As a testament to his success in this regard, as well as other achievements, Mr. Reichenbaugh was named Maryland State Police Trooper of the Year in 1986.

To remain abreast of developments in his industry, Mr. Reichenbaugh is a member of the National Law Enforcement Museum and the Maryland Writers Association. He attributes a great deal of his success to his sense of determination, having never quit on a task to which he set his mind. In the coming years, he intends to continue excelling as an author and spend more time with his family, particularly his grandchildren and great-granddaughter. His avocational activities include hunting, fishing, walking his dog, watching baseball, riding his motorcycle and writing.
