Recognized as an ambassador for Chinese American relations and harmony, Steven Qun Shen has excelled as the chairman and founder of the China-US Business Summit since 2009. Alongside his primary efforts with the China-US Business Summit, in 2019, Mr. Shen founded a 501(c)(3) organization called A Perfect Love, which specializes in helping American families who adopted Chinese children who were abandoned by their biological parents and have disabilities. A Perfect Love also seeks to establish harmony between Chinese and American individuals. Likewise, he is an award-winning documentary filmmaker who has garnered over 30 accolades for his creative works from film festivals since 2008.

Mr. Shen has served as the founder and chief executive officer of Newshen International Consulting Group since 1993. He also previously served as a teacher at Pomona College from 1991 to 1993. In his homeland of Beijing, he served with a private publishing company between 1988 and 1989 and was an editor and reporter for the Chinese Central Broadcasting Station from 1983 to 1987. During this time, he also helped to launch the Sundance Film Festival in Beijing in 1996 and was the chief executive officer for the operation to launch the San Francisco Chinese Lantern Festival in 1998.

Drawing upon a bachelor’s degree in Chinese language from Peking University in 1983 and a master’s degree in radio and television from Southern Illinois University in 1991, Mr. Shen has also contributed his expertise to the written word. Lending his experience as a contributor to numerous articles in publications, he authored “America is Also Ridiculous” in 2010. He also produced the documentary, “A Perfect Love,” which has already garnered 14 awards and is set to compete for The Academy Award in 2024.

In the coming years, Mr. Shen intends to continue helping families and the Chinese American community as a whole. He also would like to experience the continued success of his present career.
