Amarketing and managing specialist, Dorothy Filoramo has been contributing to her field for over 30 years. She began her profession as the director of marketing for Gurney’s Inn Resort from 1983 to 1989. After brief stints as the marketing director for Deer Run Ski Resort and Catskill Advertising Agency — she spent one year at each company — Ms. Filoramo joined Dominican College as its vice president of institutional advancement. She has fulfilled this role since 1993.

Passionate about both her field of work and her community, Ms. Filoramo has maintained affiliation with several civic-minded organizations. Currently, she is a member of Leadership Rockland’s board of directors, and has held this position for 15 years. Since 1997, Ms. Filoramo has served as a member of the Business Council of Westchester. Moreover, she is affiliated with Women in Development and the AFP (Association of Fundraising Professionals). Formerly, she served as president of both the board of directors and the alumni council of People to People, Inc., Rockland County’s largest food pantry. Additionally, Ms. Filoramo was the chair of the Dominican Academy’s board of trustees, founding president of the Catskill Women’s Network, and chair for New Directions for Women. She was also the founding president of the East End Women’s Network, a member of the SCORE Association’s advisory board, and the director of the Rockland Development Council’s executive board.

Ms. Filoramo received a Bachelor of Arts from Marymount Manhattan College in 1962. Throughout the course of her illustrious career, she has received multiple awards and accolades in recognition of her hard work and dedication. Ms. Filoramo received the National Silver Award for Marketing from the American Resort Development Association in both 1985 and 1987. The East End Women’s Network dubbed her Women of the Year in 1990. In 2006, she was named Leader of the Year by Leadership Rockland.
