Specializing in personal injury litigation, Meredith Marie Smith, Esq., has served as an associate attorney for the Law Office of Richard J. Presutti, P.C., in Houston since 2017. Notably, she has tried over 20 cases to jury verdict as first chair in the first three years of her tenure with the law firm. Ms. Smith is recognized as a staunch advocate, serving as a creative, aggressive and relentless representation of a diverse range of clients. She also continues her edification in the legal arena through education via the Texas Bar College.

Earlier in her career, Ms. Smith was a law clerk at the Cristobal Galindo Law Firm in 2016 and the Fort Bend County Mental Health Public Defender in 2015. She also served as an intern at the Law Office of Rex Thompson in 2015, a summer law clerk at the Law Office of Jim Huggler in 2014, and a ticket office representative at the 12th Man Foundation from 2012 to 2013. She commenced her career in 2009 as a student assistant for the Tyler Junior College Alumni Association until 2011.

To prepare for her career, Ms. Smith first earned an associate degree in business administration and management from Tyler Junior College in 2011. She went on to receive a Bachelor of Science in management and economics from Texas A&M University in 2013 and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the South Texas College of Law Houston in 2016. She was admitted to the Texas State Bar in 2017 and before the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas in 2020. Additionally, she remains professionally affiliated with such organizations as the Texas and Houston Trial Lawyers Associations, the Houston Bar Association, the Texas Aggie Bar Association and the Houston Young Lawyers Association.

To attest to her success, Ms. Smith has received a myriad of accolades. In 2016, she received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award from the South Texas College of Law Houston, having previously been nominated for the “Unsung Hero” Award from the Alpha Omicron chapter of Phi Theta Kappa and the Watson W. Wise Incentive Award from Tyler Junior College in 2011. Likewise, she earned the Katie Bryant Endowed Award for Excellence from Tyler Junior College and the Five Star Competitive Edge award from Phi Theta Kappa in 2011, among other awards.
