Supported by over 40 years of professional experience in the fields of health care and finance, John R. Dyer most recently served as the president of Strategic Health Solutions in Omaha, Nebraska, from 2014 until his retirement in 2016. In his post-retirement years, he has continued as the president of the RHI Society in Guatemala and the owner and president of Jarrett Associates, Inc. Having led an extensive and distinguished career path, he previously served the United States Food and Drug Administration as deputy commissioner between 2007 and 2009.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Dyer excelled with the United States Department of Health and Human Services, serving as the chief operating officer and, earlier, as the chief financial officer for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. Likewise, he was a consultant with the Science Applications International Corporation (more commonly known as SAIC) and the principal deputy commissioner for management and finance with the Social Security Administration. Mr. Dyer began his career in 1973 as a budget examiner and branch chief with the Office of Management Budget within the Executive Office of the President.

To prepare for his career, Mr. Dyer pursued a formal education at the University of Notre Dame, receiving a bachelor’s degree in 1969. He subsequently attended the University of Michigan and earned a Master of Public Health in 1972. Certified in management and budgeting, Mr. Dyer has also lent his expertise to civic endeavors, having served on the board of directors of the Pantaleon Foundation, Inc., and Scantel S.A. He also was recognized as an assistant scoutmaster and master of the Boy Scouts of America.

In light of his outstanding undertakings, Mr. Dyer thrice received the Meritorious Presidential Rank Award and once received the Presidential Rank Award of Distinguished Executive, both from the Office of Performance and Personnel Management. Likewise, he was bestowed with the Roger W. Jones Award for Executive Leadership. However, among the many highlights of his career, he is particularly proud of his role in the Medicare prescription program and his instrumental participation in increasing the quality of service of the Social Security Administration.
