Specializing in online and distance education, Dr. Cynthia Blodgett-Griffin founded Blodgett Learning Systems shortly after receiving her bachelor’s degree. Notably, Blodgett Learning Systems focuses on print technology and graphic design, through which Dr. Blodgett-Griffin also teaches graphic design software at community colleges. During the course of her own collegiate studies, she also worked on a grant to design online curricula for a distance education high school alongside an instructional design team. Additionally, she has taught at international universities in the areas of open, digital and distance education in their graduate degree programs. To this end, she has impressively taught over 15 master’s degree and doctoral courses.

To prepare for her career, Dr. Blodgett-Griffin received a Bachelor of Science in graphic communications and advertising from Minnesota State University, Moorhead. She went on to earn a Master of Arts in adult education from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, where she established the very first distance education teacher training institute for adult basic educators in the state of Nebraska. Shortly thereafter, she earned a Doctor of Philosophy in education and human sciences from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, where she also studied post-secondary students with mild traumatic brain injuries.

Throughout her prolific career, Dr. Blodgett-Griffin has chaired numerous thesis and doctoral committees, having also authored and co-authored various publications in nationally acclaimed journals. She also published her book, “Mild Traumatic Brain Injury and Information Access on the World Wide Web,” the findings of which draw upon her research conducted for her own doctoral dissertation. To date, Dr. Blodgett-Griffin has continued to conduct thorough research to support adult online education students in publishing their own research in scholarly journals.

In light of her exceptional undertakings, Dr. Blodgett-Griffin was recognized as the Professional Woman of the Year by the National Association of Professional Women in 2010. Previously, she was named a Woman of Outstanding Leadership and was honored for outstanding professionalism in her field of interest. In the coming years, she intends to continue with her present career and influence other educators in distance education.
