With more than 25 years of professional experience, Lieda A. Shadwick is distinguished in the field of education, culminating in her current role as a career and technical education (CTE) educator at Riverview Gardens High School in St. Louis, Missouri. In her role since 2019, Ms. Shadwick previously served the high school in the same capacity from 2005 to 2010, having been named Teacher of the Year in 2010 in light of her teaching excellence. In addition to being a certified teacher in Missouri and Illinois, she possesses expertise in marketing, web design and computer applications.

Concurrently, Ms. Shadwick has served as an independent contractor with VIPKid (now known as VIP Teacher) since 2018, teaching English as a second language to Chinese students through a global online platform. She previously worked as a business educator at Riverview Gardens Central Middle School and has applied her skills in the same subject at Venice High School, Livingston High School and Northwestern Junior/Senior High School since 1999. Likewise, Ms. Shadwick was the first vice president turned president of the Collinsville High School Band PTA between 2009 and 2012.

Highly educated, Ms. Shadwick holds a Bachelor of Science in business administration and a Bachelor of Music in music performance, both from Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville. She received a Master of Arts in Teaching in education technology from Webster University in 2005.

Looking ahead, Ms. Shadwick is excited to embark on the next chapter of her journey by publishing her memoir and establishing a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering young people and supporting educational initiatives. Married to her husband, David, she is the proud mother of Victoria, grandmother to Oliver, and honors Jared Ryan, a son she lost before birth. In her leisure time, she enjoys baking, reading, ice skating, skiing, visiting the beach, and spending quality time with family.
