
Charleen Verena Kavleski is a prolific artist and sculptor with over 55 years of professional experience in artistic expression, art education and antiques dealing. Since 1984, she has served as a board member of the Amos Eno Gallery, having formerly served as the gallery’s treasurer from 1991 to 1994. With prior tenures as an art teacher and advisor, as well as an antiques and art dealer, Ms. Kavleski has showcased her conceptual art and sculptures across the country beginning in the early 1980s.
Most recently, Ms. Kavleski has been featured in articles by the National Digest, as well as shows in the Amos Eno Gallery in Brooklyn, the Albany Center Galleries, and the National Association of Women Artists, all in 2025. Previously, she showcased her work in group exhibitions, including the Winter Art Show with the Catskill Art Society in Livingston Manor, New York, in 2019 and 2020, as well as at the 104 South Gallery in 2018 and the Sylvia Wald and Po Kim Art Gallery in 2017, among other venues. She began her solo artistic career in 1982, having displayed her work at the West Broadway Gallery in New York City, followed by a group exhibition at The Haggin Museum in Stockton, California, in 1985. As time progressed, Ms. Kavleski went on to show her art across Pennsylvania, Ohio, and various galleries across New York. She has been featured in more than 17 New York City solo shows, as well as more than 280 group and juried shows.
Outside of her artistic pursuits, Ms. Kavleski has maintained an affiliation as an antiques and art dealer at Albatross Antiques and Art in South Fallsburg, New York, since 2009. She previously served in the same capacity at Brockmann’s Antique Center in Milford, New York, from 1982 to 2009. Likewise, Ms. Kavleski was an art advisor and editor of the literary and art magazine at Robert J. Kaiser Middle School, part of the Monticello Central School District, from 1989 to 1999. She began working at the school district as an art teacher in 1968.
Ms. Kavleski has accrued numerous accolades since the inception of her art career. Earning the Eve Helman Memorial Award for Works on Paper at the National Association of Women Artists Awards in 2018, she also accepted the Elizabeth Horman Memorial Award for Digital Art from the 125th Annual Exhibition of the National Association of Women Artists in 2014. Additionally, she was honored with the Miriam E. Halpern Memorial Award at the 105th Annual Exhibition and received a first-place designation at the Nephenthe Mundi Emerald City Classic. Earlier in her career, she was featured in “The New York Art Review” by Les Krantz in 1988.
Looking ahead, Ms. Kavleski aims to continue displaying her artwork at galleries and shows across the nation. She attributes much of her success to her early exposure to fine arts, galleries and museums.
