
Richard T. Nance is celebrated in the automotive industry for his excellence in engineering, drawing on more than 25 years of professional experience. Since 2023, he has served as the lead quality control assistant manager at Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama, where he specializes in process improvement, quality control, data management and quality auditing. Notably, Mr. Nance has demonstrated dedication to his field, having developed new process applications to reduce ergonomic problems and completed annual capital and expense budget reviews. Likewise, he directs routine evaluations of information systems.
Mr. Nance joined Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama in 2004 as a quality specialist. Remaining in this role until 2006, he subsequently served as a quality control assistant manager from 2006 to 2012. Thereafter, he thrived as a quality control assistant manager of equipment and VPC quality analysis from 2012 to 2016. Mr. Nance began his career with DaimlerChrysler in 1999 as a specialist, remaining in that role until joining Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama in 2004.
Highly educated, Mr. Nance holds a Bachelor of Engineering in electrical and electronics engineering from Prairie View A&M University, which he completed in 1995. To remain aware of trends and developments in his profession, he previously maintained membership in the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and is a current member of the American Society for Quality.
In light of his industry success, Mr. Nance has earned several accolades, including the Core Values Award from Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama in 2022. The following year, the company named Mr. Nance its Team Member of the Year. He was also highlighted in the 17th edition of Marquis Millennium Magazine and was named a Top Engineer by Marquis Who’s Who.
Looking toward the future, Mr. Nance aspires to earn a master’s degree in power electronics, and he hopes to leverage this degree to enhance his understanding of the automotive and engineering industries. Married with two children, Mr. Nance enjoys bowling and taking care of his yard in his spare time.
