Entering the field of construction at the age of 15, Matthew Jesse Moore first worked for a private contractor, who introduced him to and sparked his interest in structures and buildings and how they operate. After earning a degree in architectural and structural engineering from the University of Wyoming, Mr. Moore began working for Mosaic Engineering and Consulting in Denver, Colorado, in 2016. Remaining with the firm for nearly nine years in several capacities – including as a staff engineer, project engineer and project engineer II – Mr. Moore relocated to his hometown in Alaska. In 2024, he opened Moore Engineering & Consulting, where he has continued to thrive, particularly in light of the significant opportunities and need for structural engineering services in Alaska.

As part of his responsibilities, Mr. Moore primarily manages engineering projects and visits new sites to assess construction and ongoing projects to assess structural integrity. In addition, he collaborates extensively with clients and contractors to address issues and provide solutions. In accounting for his success, Mr. Moore credits the influence of his family and mentors. In this regard, he says that, without the support of his parents, wife and children or the mentorship from fellow engineers, he would not have been as successful as he is today.

In addition to his professional work, Mr. Moore is an active member of the American Society of Civil Engineers. Looking toward the future, he aims to strengthen client relationships through Moore Engineering & Consulting and make the company the leading choice for contractors, architects and building owners. Mr. Moore emphasizes that with many experienced engineers approaching retirement, he intends to fill those roles as he reconnects with his Alaskan roots.

Outside his vocational responsibilities, Mr. Moore has been recognized as an Eagle Scout through the Boy Scouts of America. He is married to his wife, Lindsey, and has two young children, Booker and Dawson. Enjoying fishing, hunting and other outdoor activities in his spare time, Mr. Moore emphasizes the beauty of Alaska and encourages others to visit the region. He currently resides in Eagle River, Alaska.
