Drawing upon more than 35 years of professional excellence, Teresa A. Williams is a business continuity specialist who has been serving as the senior specialist of regional business continuity at West Pharmaceutical Services since 2022. West Pharmaceutical Services is a leading company that specializes in producing packaging components and delivery systems for injectable drugs and various health care products. As the senior specialist, Ms. Williams creates business continuity plans for potential risks, such as COVID-19 and manmade or natural disasters, to ensure the company can sustain business operations during disasters and recover effectively. Likewise, she conducts comprehensive risk assessment and business impact analyses and sets up appointments for each facility and department lead, among a myriad of other tasks.
Ms. Williams previously worked as a manager of business continuity management for Providence St. Joseph Health between 2017 and 2022. During this time, she was hired to devise, develop and implement the health system’s business continuity program, which continues to this day. Earlier in her career, she was a business continuity management consultant with Randstad Technologies US from 2016 to 2017 and a senior business continuity management consultant with Kaiser Permanente from 2002 to 2016, where she developed the organization’s business continuity program. Likewise, Ms. Williams served with the Federal Reserve Bank in Los Angeles and Lawrence, Texas, from 1988 to 2002, where she was a protection officer and business continuity contingency planner. She formerly served as a deputy sheriff in the New Orleans Criminal Sheriff’s Office from 1986 to 1987.
Highly educated, Ms. Williams received an Associate of Arts from West Los Angeles College and a bachelor’s degree in information systems from the University of Phoenix. She subsequently became a Certified ISO 22301 Lead Implementer and a Certified Business Continuity Professional. Likewise, she earned a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification through California State Polytechnic University-Pomona.
A member of the National Association of Professional Women, Ms. Williams was honored by the organization with recognition as Woman of the Year in 2015. Outside of her regular work responsibilities, she has been an assistant coach for the youth basketball program at her local community center and a coach for youth basketball for eighth-grade students. Looking toward the future, Ms. Williams aims to continue initiating programs and building strong foundations, drawing upon her innate commitment to giving back by training individuals to effectively manage the programs she has developed.
