Leveraging more than 20 years of professional experience, Amreen Khan is distinguished for her role as the founder and director of Praxis Academic Development. Established in 2012, Praxis Academic Development is a test preparation and tutoring company that has been a fully remote learning platform since 2016. Ms. Khan specializes in training students for medical college admissions and dental admissions testing, working one-on-one with students with standardized test training and academic tutorials while concurrently maintaining involvement in curricula and material development. In recent years, Ms. Khan has been sharing her academic strategies on YouTube in the form of educational videos, which have helped students within the United States and globally. In this regard, she has raised awareness of her novel tutoring approach, the “Don’t Think Too Much Approach,” applying the simplest fundamentals to even the most complex problems and aiding enrollment rates.
To wit, Ms. Khan’s academic and tutoring styles have been revered as popular hands-on approaches, allowing her to tailor learning experiences and materials to each individual student while adapting to the ever-evolving student population. As part of their routine responsibilities, Ms. Khan and her team of tutoring professionals do not readily answer students’ questions. Rather, they guide students with strategies to answer questions or devise nontraditional means to choose correct answers on standardized tests. Impressively, this approach has yielded terrific success rates and fostered environments that encourage and motivate students to reach and even surpass their academic goals.
Earlier in her career, Ms. Khan sought a formal education at the University of Illinois at Chicago, receiving a Bachelor of Science in 1997. During this time, she also trained for tutoring certifications and worked as a tutor in college learning centers. By 1998, Ms. Khan seamlessly transitioned into teaching at the collegiate level and earned a Master of Science from Illinois State University in 2000.
