A specialist in the field of agriculture for many years, Travis J. Jochim always harnessed his deep desire to understand the fundamentals of science and plants. First receiving a Bachelor of Science in plant and soil science from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, in 2002, he completed internships at FMC Chemical and Dow Chemical before commencing his professional career. Notably, Mr. Jochim is a fourth-generation farmer on one side of his family and a third-generation farmer on the other side of his family. Equipped with an abiding passion for learning, especially in learning how to better the family farms in his region, Mr. Jochim has excelled as the owner of Apex Agronomix since 2019.
As the owner of Apex Agronomix, Mr. Jochim demonstrates his expertise as an agronomist with a demonstrated history of working in the farming industry. Impressively, he is skilled in negotiation, agrochemicals, customer service, vegetables and strategic planning. As part of his routine responsibilities, he works directly with farmers in his area to advise and make recommendations on weed and insect control and disease management. He also possesses knowledge of financial management. Prior to his current appointment, he served as a technical service provider for the National Resources Conservation Service for several years and was the owner and sales agronomist for Novus Ag from 2019 to 2023. Likewise, Mr. Jochim has lent his breadth of knowledge to the eponymous Travis Jochim Farms since 2016.
A member of the American Society of Agronomy and the Knights of Columbus in his spare time, Mr. Jochim holds a certified crop advisor license. He emphasizes that his avid desire for knowledge keeps him engaged in continuous learning, and he remains committed to understanding every facet of his field. To this end, he is well-versed in the operation of unique German farming equipment that is specific to his region, and he has dedicated his time to traveling to further explore his industry.
Looking toward the future, Mr. Jochim aims to continue experiencing the growth and success of his career with Apex Agronomix. Living by the motto, “Helping our customers is our number one goal,” he endeavors to always deliver to the best of his ability to exceed customer expectations. Married to his wife Danya, he was born and currently resides in Owensville, Indiana.
