Michael J. Emhof discovered his passion for racing and motorsports at a formative age. When he was 8 years old, he became acquainted with a neighbor, who was a racecar driver and took the young Mr. Emhof to a race for his birthday. Inspired to pursue a future career in the sport, he was also driven by his ambition to succeed, having been instilled with a strong work ethic by his parents when he was a child. Currently, Mr. Emhof excels as the president and owner of Mike Emhof Motorsports, Inc., where he promotes racing events throughout Sodus, New York, and its surrounding areas. Some racing events to Mr. Emhof’s credit include the CRSA Sprint, the Patriot Spring Tour and the Central New York Mini Sprints.
Additionally, Mr. Emhof is the noted owner of Mike Emhof Motorsports Parts, his adjacent business recognized as an innovator in open-wheel racing parts distribution. Notably, the business has a storefront in Sodus and trackside operations at various racing events across the Northeast region of the United States. As a testament to his success in the field, Mr. Emhof was honored with the Motorsports Award in 2022 and was appointed as a board member of the voting panel of the National Spring Car Hall of Fame.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Emhof spent 40 years in the engineering industry as an engineer with the Dynalec Corporation, a defense contractor and engineering firm. Also holding a certification as a radiation safety officer, he completed much work building smoke detectors for United States Navy ships. A Navy veteran himself, Mr. Emhof spent six years in the United States Navy and ultimately earned a Navy Commendation Medal for his efforts. In the present day, Mr. Emhof continues to serve as a consultant in the field of engineering, working on approximately five consulting projects in recent years.
To remain abreast of developments in his areas of interest, Mr. Emhof is active with the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame, the New York State Stock Car Association, and various racing events associated with the Boy Scouts of America and Cub Scouts. Married to his wife for several decades, Mr. Emhof is the proud father of three sons. He is also a doting grandfather of 10 grandchildren and has four great-grandchildren.
Mr. Emhof attributes much of his success to his diligent work ethic, passion for his career and drive to succeed. He also believes that reward comes from hard work and significant effort, and he passes this philosophy down to all his team members. Looking toward the future, he intends to experience the continued success of Mike Emhof Motorsports, Inc.
