A leader in the fields of business administration and health care, Scott M. Sowell currently serves as the president of Blackwater Tiger Consulting. In his position since 2021, he maintains responsibility for working with clients in health care on such objectives as organizational development, project management, customer service and strategic initiatives, among other subject areas. Prior to this role, Mr. Sowell was the vice president of operational excellence at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona from 2004 to 2021, having initially commenced his career in the health care informatics industry. Overall, he has accrued more than 25 years of experience in his field.
Outside of his primary endeavors, Mr. Sowell has been a member of the American Society for Quality. In addition, he has lent his time and expertise to several civic activities, including contributing to charities through the CrossWalk Church in Phoenix, Arizona, and supporting the Southwest Center for HIV/AIDS.
As a testament to his success in the field, Mr. Sowell has been honored with numerous accolades. Most notably, he earned the Quality Award from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona in light of his contributions to his industry. Although he has achieved many significant milestones, he is particularly proud of streamlining the health care process for several organizations, making their operations efficient and cost-effective.
Mr. Sowell holds an associate degree from Montgomery County Community College. He subsequently received a Bachelor of Science in business management and a Master of Arts in organizational management from the University of Phoenix in 1999 and 2004, respectively. In accounting for his success, he credits his own academic ventures and pursuit of continuing education, as well as the influence of his family and parents, who have all been beacons of love and support.
In the coming years, Mr. Sowell intends to continue advancing in his present career with the hope of improving the fields of health care and wellness to a greater level. Ultimately, he aims to positively influence the financial sector of health care to make health care operations more affordable.
