Desiring to teach from a formative age, Sandra L. Morrey was inspired to pursue the field of education in light of her natural ability to relate to children. Recognized as a distinguished educator, she simultaneously expressed interest in computer programming when she was young and has since served in a myriad of technology-related roles.
Now retired, Ms. Morrey previously served as a teacher throughout the state of California and for the United States military. Notably, she taught children of military families for many years in the United States and Germany. She also excelled as a computer analyst and computer consultant, having been a systems analyst for Steelcase and an aide to the vice president of Coldwell Banker. She possesses a Bachelor of Science from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, California, which she obtained in 1964.
Outside of her primary efforts, Ms. Morrey has continued to thrive as an officer of the Eastern Star and the Daughters of the Nile. While serving the Eastern Star, she has been responsible for heading their Wreaths for Veterans project, where she and her chapter create handmade wreaths and place them in a cemetery in Sacramento, California. She is also a past member of the Girl Scouts of the United States of America and Job’s Daughters.
Attributing much of her success to the influence, support and encouragement of her parents, Ms. Morrey has achieved much over the course of her career. To this end, she is particularly proud of teaching children of American military families, providing them with a sense of normalcy and stability in the classroom. Looking toward the future, Ms. Morrey intends to continue cultivating her social and personal lives. She enjoys studying genealogy and gardening in her spare time.
