Since 2003, Shelley Maberry has excelled as the founder, president and chief executive officer of Maberry Consulting and Evaluation Services LLC in Swansea, Illinois. An expert in grant management and writing, she has also served as the director of the Heartland Institutional Review Board LLC since 2010 and the founder of The New DBA LLC since 2022. Earlier in her career, Ms. Maberry was a health educator and grant writer at St. Joseph Memorial Hospital in Murphysboro, Illinois, between 1996 and 2003. She also briefly served as an editorial board member of Coursewise Publishing, Inc., for one year between 1998 and 1999.
Drawing upon a Bachelor of Science in health education and a Master of Science in Education in school health from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, Ms. Maberry subsequently completed postgraduate coursework in health education at her alma mater. Likewise, she has continued her education extensively with a postgraduate certification in diversity and inclusion from Cornell University, having previously completed the Entrepreneurship Acceleration Program at The Wharton School. Other certifications to Ms. Maberry’s credit include a graduate certificate in program evaluation from the University of Connecticut, a human subjects certification from the National Institutes of Health, and a Six Sigma Black Belt from the Management & Strategy Institute, among others.
Throughout her extensive career, Ms. Maberry has served as a staunch advocate of grant provisions at the collegiate level. Having leveraged her own interest in grant writing during her undergraduate studies, she has since earned over $2 billion in grant funding for her clients. She possesses over 30 years of experience in consulting and training experience, and in June 2022, she was highlighted in the “World’s Greatest” program through Bloomberg Television.
Looking toward the future, Ms. Maberry intends to continue witnessing the success of her three businesses. With respect to her profession, she says, “There will never be a shortage of grant opportunities.”
