J. Darin Greear was raised by his parents on a dairy farm in Riner, Virginia, where he worked alongside his father even following his graduation from college. After the farm was sold in 2003, he endeavored to enter the field of real estate, having previously spent many years in the construction industry. Mr. Greear advises that his experience in construction cultivated a keen sense of responsibility and a leading edge in his real estate career. Additionally, he says that helping his father develop and subdivide the family farm was his first exposure to real estate, prompting his early interest in the field.

Since 2004, Mr. Greear has excelled as a realtor with Long & Foster Real Estate. Attaining much success over the past 19 years, he has received numerous accolades in recognition of his affinity for selling residential and commercial properties. Most recently, in 2022, he was honored as an Outstanding Sales Agent in the Southwest Virginia Region by Long & Foster. Previously, he was inducted into the Long & Foster Gold Team in recognition of his excellence in sales and production in 2021. He was previously inducted into the firm’s Platinum Club the same year.

Other accolades to Mr. Greear’s credit have included being named a Top Salesman in West Virginia on multiple occasions and a Top Agent by the New River Valley Association of Realtors several times. He was ranked #3 in real estate transactions and #172 at the national level, as detailed by Real Trends and The Wall Street Journal. Furthermore, in 2013, he was named Realtor of the Year by the New River Valley Association of Realtors, having also been bestowed by the association with the 2009 Good Neighbor Award and the Ethics in Action Lifetime Achievement Award.

Drawing upon bachelor’s degrees in economics and mathematics from Radford University, Mr. Greear is a Certified Residential Specialist (CRS), graduate of the Realtor Institute (GRI), Accredited Buyers Representative (ABR) and Certified Internet Professional (e-PRO). A civic-minded individual, Mr. Greear also sits on the board of directors of the Montgomery County Farm Bureau, the Southern States Cooperative and the Riner Volunteer Rescue Squad, serving the latter as a co-founder. Looking forward, Mr. Greear intends to continue mentoring emerging realtors in the field.
