Douglas E. Shayne is a distinguished expert in the field of law. Before the onset of his professional career, he attended both Brooklyn College and New York University. Subsequently, he attained a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the New York University Law School in 2000 and was admitted to practice law in New York. Additionally, Mr. Shayne is admitted before the federal courts for the Eastern and Southern jurisdictions of New York.
Currently, Mr. Shayne serves as the managing trial partner at Blumen & Shayne PLLC, located in Brooklyn, New York. His daily responsibilities include managing the firm and administrative tasks, as well as serving as a trial attorney alongside other lawyers and cooperating with various insurance companies. To this end, Mr. Shayne specializes in litigation, personal injury law and medical malpractice law. He possesses over 20 years of legal experience.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Shayne served as a managing trial attorney at Khavinson & Associates, P.C., from 2014 to 2018, a senior trial attorney for Cellino & Barnes from 2011 and 2013, and a senior trial attorney for Brecher, Fishman, Pasternack, Walsh, Tilker & Siegler, P.C., from 2008 to 2011. He commenced his career as an associate attorney for Hayes Finger & Wenick between 2000 and 2001. To remain abreast of developments in the field of law, Mr. Shayne is a member of Lawyers of Distinction, National Trial Lawyers, the National Academy of Personal Injury Attorneys (NAOPIA) and the American Association of Attorney Advocates.
Among the many highlights of his career, Mr. Shayne is incredibly proud to have won a multi-million-dollar medical malpractice suit for one of his clients during his tenure in law. He credits much of his success to the influence of his mentor, Frank Wenick, who formerly served as the bureau chief of the New York Attorney General’s Office. In accounting for his longevity and success in the field, Mr. Shayne has received numerous accolades. Named among the 2021 and 2022 National Trial Lawyers Top 100, 2022 Lawyers of Distinction, 2022 NAOPIA Top 10 and 2022 American Association of Attorney Advocates Top 10, Mr. Shayne was also highlighted in the New York Times 2021 and 2022 Power Lawyers.
