Jerry Kill is an acclaimed athletic coach who has garnered over 35 years of professional experience. Since 2021, he has excelled as the head football coach at New Mexico State University. Earlier in his career, he served at Texas Christian University as assistant to the head coach and interim head coach from 2020 to 2021 and Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University as assistant to the head coach in 2019. Likewise, Mr. Kill was an athletic administrator at Southern Illinois University from 2018 to 2019, an offensive coordinator at Rutgers University in 2017, and an associate athletic director for administration at Kansas State University in 2016.

Likewise, Mr. Kill served academic institutions such as Emporia State University, Saginaw Valley State University and Pittsburgh State University in various roles, including as a head coach for the NCAA Division II. He commenced his career at Pittsburgh State University in 1985, serving as a defensive coordinator for two years. Prior to embarking on his career path, he received a bachelor’s degree from Southwestern College in Winfield, Kansas.

Notably, Mr. Kill enjoys writing books in his spare time, having authored the book “Chasing Dreams: Living My Life One Yard at a Time” in 2016. Over the course of his prolific career, he has won 13 state championships and made six appearances in Bowl Games. A member of the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA), he has received a myriad of accolades throughout his career. In 2016, Mr. Kill earned the Power of Influence Award from the AFCA, having that same year been inducted into the Kansas Sports Hall of Fame. Moreover, he was honored with the Bob McNamara Memorial Legends Award in 2015 and the Courage Award from the National Football Foundation in 2009. Mr. Kill was further inducted into the Southern Illinois University Hall of Fame in 2014 and the Southwestern College Hall of Fame in 2004.

Among the many highlights of his career, Mr. Kill is especially proud of establishing a cancer foundation in Southern Illinois, as well as founding the Chasing Dreams Foundation in Minnesota. Looking toward the future, he intends to build a tournament program at New Mexico State University. He would also like to continue excelling in his current role while coaching, performing public speaking engagements and consulting.
