Dr. Edward R. Bryan IV joined NorthStar Anesthesia in Northern Texas in 2011, where he has since excelled as a staff anesthesiologist. Alongside this position, he has also served as the medical director of anesthesiology at the Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital with NorthStar Anesthesia in Stephenville, Texas, since 2015. Concurrent with these pursuits, Dr. Bryan was a regional medical director in North Texas from 2017 to 2018. Earlier in his career, he was a staff anesthesiologist with Weatherford Anesthesia Associates, P.A., from 2009 to 2011.

To prepare for his career, Dr. Bryan received an education at The University of Texas at Arlington, receiving a Bachelor of Science in biology, cum laude, in 2000. He then earned a Doctor of Medicine from the UT Health San Antonio Joe R. & Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine in 2005. He completed his residency in anesthesiology at the Scott & White Medical Center, Baylor Scott & White Health at the Texas A&M University Health Science Center in Temple in 2009. Prior to receiving his education, he was a staff respiratory therapist, critical care respiratory therapist, trauma team member and leader at John Peter Smith Hospital through the JPS Health Network from 1997 to 2001. He also served as a flight respiratory therapist with Lifeguard Aeromed at Fort Worth, Texas, from 1998 to 2001.

Notably, Dr. Bryan held a certificate in respiratory therapy and a respiratory care license in Texas, having also been recognized as a board-certified respiratory therapist by the National Board for Respiratory Care from 1997 to 2002. Currently, he is board certified in anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology, holds a medical license in the State of Texas, and is a diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesiology. Outside of his medical appointments, Dr. Bryan lent his expertise to the Boy Scouts of America as a scoutmaster of Troop 1099 in Aledo, Texas, from 2015 to 2018 and has participated in international mission trips to Peru, Guatemala and Belize.

To attest to his success, Dr. Bryan was named a Top Anesthesiologist by Leading Physicians of the World from 2015 to 2017. Maintaining membership with the American Society of Anesthesiologists and the Texas Society of Anesthesiologists, he is a past member of the Society for Obstetric Anesthesia and Perinatology and the American Medical Association, among other organizations. He attributes much of his success to his commitment to being a lifelong learner, and he advises that he continuously remains abreast of developments in his areas of expertise as procedures are constantly evolving.

Looking toward the future, Dr. Bryan intends to continue the growth of the services and procedures provided at NorthStar Anesthesia, particularly within the anesthesiology and surgical units.
