A dedicated professional for more than four decades, Donald J. Hudson attributes his success to his intelligence, superior management skills, and commitment to the job. In 1952, he received a Bachelor of Arts in mathematics and economics from the University of British Columbia and briefly worked at Shell Canada Limited. While searching for opportunities in large companies, Mr. Hudson joined Canadian Pacific Air Lines from 1953 to 1964 as a manager in marketing. From 1964 to 1981, he served as a senior vice president of the pacific division of Eaton’s Department Stores. Finally, from 1982 to 1995, he served as president of the Vancouver Stock Exchange. During this time, Mr. Hudson was presented with an honorary Doctor of Laws from Simon Fraser University.
Civically, Mr. Hudson has been active in his community through his work the Canadian Club of Vancouver, the Canadian Committee on the Pacific Basin Economic Council, the Playhouse Theatre, the Canadian Council of Christians and Jews, St. Paul’s Hospital, and Simon Fraser University. In his spare time, Mr. Hudson enjoys gardening, sports, hiking, backpacking, traveling, golfing, fishing, trekking, camping, and trail riding.
