Amassing nearly 50 years of professional experience in the legal industry, Jonathan Schochor, JD, has been a senior managing partner at Schochor, Federico & Staton, P.A., since 1984. Located in Baltimore, Md., the firm specializes in the representation of individuals who are the victims of medical malpractice, negligence, and the wrongful acts of others, including such practice areas as birth injuries, wrongful death, hospital errors and brain injury. A renowned figure in his field, Mr. Schochor has been a lecturer in law at such prestigious universities as The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and The Johns Hopkins Hospital, a guest expert on several radio and television programs, and an expert witness to state legislature. He received a Bachelor of Arts from The Pennsylvania State University in 1968 and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the American University School of Law in 1971. He has since been admitted by the Maryland State Bar and District of Columbia Bar, as well as before the Supreme Court of the United States, the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland, the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit.
A member of the membership committee of the American Board of Trial Advocates since 1994, Mr. Schochor has engaged in a number of civic duties, including The Rita Project, a nonprofit organization dedicated to assist families who have lost a loved one to teen suicide. He is also on the Board of the Life and Breath Foundation, a charity devoted to discovering the cure for sarcoidosis, the most common fibrotic lung disease.
In recognition of his exceptional accomplishments, Mr. Schochor has accrued numerous accolades throughout his impressive career. Named among the Best Lawyers in America in 2016, he was considered the Trial Lawyer of the Year by the Maryland Association for Justice in 2015. He was the recipient of the Cornerstone Award from SmartCEO magazine and named one of the Influential Marylanders by the Daily Record.
