A celebrated figure in the field of nursing, Charlene S. Cleveland, RN, is currently retired, having formerly served as a homebound nurse for the Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services in Anniston, Ala. Previously, Ms. Cleveland worked as a staff nurse at the Child Development Center of TCRC, Inc., in Talladega, Ala.; a public health nurse for the Alabama Department of Public Health in Sylacauga, Ala.; and a staff nurse for Sylacauga Hospital.
In preparation for her successful career, Ms. Cleveland earned a diploma in the School of Nursing of Sylacauga Hospital in 1967, followed by coursework through Gadsden State Community College between 1979 and 1982. Subsequently, she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, magna cum laude, from Jacksonville State University in 1995. She is a registered nurse in the state of Alabama.
To remain abreast of recent developments within the field of nursing, Ms. Cleveland maintains affiliations with several professional organizations, including the Alabama State Nurses Association and ASEA, LLC. She is additionally a former member of the ARA. Alongside her vocational endeavors, Ms. Cleveland has held the position of Alabama State President of the Baptist Nursing Fellowship for the Woman’s Missionary Union since 2015. Prior to this role, she was a parish nurse for the Woman’s Missionary Union.
In recognition of her accomplishments, Ms. Cleveland has been listed in several Marquis Who’s Who publications, such as Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Nursing, Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare, Who’s Who in the South and Southwest, Who’s Who in the World, and Who’s Who of American Women.
