A renowned chemist, backed by nearly six decades of invaluable experience, Ramesh C. Pandey, Ph.D., has risen to prominence in the field of science. He began work as a junior research fellow for the National Chemical Laboratory from 1960 to 1964; Dr. Pandey went on to serve as a research officer from 1965 to 1967. After immigrating to the United States, he joined the faculty at the University of Illinois’ Department of Chemistry as a research associate.

Throughout the years, he held several key positions in the science and health care sectors, including head of the chemical section for the NCI’s Frederick Cancer Research Facility, senior scientist of Abbott, and chairman of Xechem International Inc. From 1996 to 2007, he served as president and CEO of Xetapharm Inc. In 2001, Dr. Pandey founded GDP Ayurvedic University. He has since served as the university’s president and chairman. Additionally, since 2009, he has served as chairman director of RaMed Pharmaceutical Inc.

Throughout the course of his illustrious career, Dr. Pandey has exercised his passion for his profession through a multitude of affiliations, including the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, the American Society of Pharmacognosy, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the New York Academy of Sciences, and the American Council for Medicinally Active Plants, Inc. Furthermore, Dr. Pandey is an active member of the American Institute of Chemists and Indian Science Congress Association. In addition to holding the status of fellow emeritus with the American Institute of Chemists, he is a fellow of both the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, and the American Society for Microbiology. Notably, Dr. Pandey is also the founder and executive trustee of the National Ayurvedic Medical Association. His civic duty includes actively working on various projects to treat both HIV and diabetes.

Since entering his field, Dr. Pandey has received numerous awards and accolades in recognition of his hard work and dedication. Since 1966, he has been honored by Rotary International as a Paul Harris Fellow. Dr. Pandey was acknowledged as an honoree by Vaidya Ratna in 2004, presented with the P. Ray Memorial Award from the Indian Chemical Society in 2006, and dubbed Readers’ Choice Chief Executive Officer of the Year by CBSMarketwatch.com. In 2009, the Republic of Mauritius bestowed Dr. Pandey with a Lifetime Achievement Award.
