Distinguished as one of the Great Designers of the World, Kim E. Gwozdz has taken the interior design world by storm since establishing her career. With an eye for design and love of all things art, she is known in her professional community for her professionalism, exuberant personality and incredible attention to detail. Today, she is the principal designer for her award winning interior design firm Kim E. Gwozdz, Provenance, located in Phoenix, Ariz. She offers her clients top-of-the line services, including residential interior design, hospitality and commercial design, remodeling, and new construction design. She works directly with each client to ensure that she brings their vision to life — and in many cases she uses her expertise and experience to help elevate visions into beautiful masterpieces within the confines of four walls.
To prepare for her career in interior design, Ms. Gwozdz studied at the University of Florence in Italy in 1979, where she fell in love with design on an international level. She returned to the United States with a global perspective and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in graphic design, illustration and art history from The University of Arizona. She began her career as an interior designer for Pat Bacon & Associates, and later joined Marcus Taylor Furniture as a principal designer. To continue to develop herself professionally and remain at the top of her field, Ms. Gwozdz became involved with a number of industry organizations, including the American Society of Interior Designers, where she served as an associate, member of the interiors survey committee, awards committee and chairman of the Arizona Northern Chapter, among numerous other committee roles.
Outside of her professional endeavors, Ms. Gwozdz is known for her civic work within her professional and local communities. Since 2013, she has been involved in initiatives with the Arizona Costume Institute, where she notably served as a member of the board of directors for a three-year term. She has also been involved with the contemporary forum at the Phoenix Art Museum since 2011. Recently, Ms. Gwozdz resumed her involvement with the annual gala committee for the American Cancer Society; she served on the committee from 1994 to 2002. Now, back for her third gala since 2015, she feels gratified to contribute to a cause that means a lot to her on a personal level.
