A renowned expert in phlebology, as well as in vascular and interventional radiology, Robert L. Worthington-Kirsch currently serves as the Pennsylvania Medical Director, Director of Research and Network Physician at Vein Clinics of America. Additionally, he has served as a consultant for Syntactx since 2015 and for Prairie Education & Research Cooperative since 2013. Previously, Dr. Worthington-Kirsch served as a Medical Director for Vascular Access Centers, Section Head of interventional radiology at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center, and had a solo Interventional Radiology practice at Image Guided Surgery Associates, PC. Dr. Worthington-Kirsch has also served as a consultant for a multitude of companies throughout the course of his career, including Syntactx, Veniti, BTG International Ltd., ProVation Medical, Conceptus, and Vascular Solutions, Inc.

After receiving a Bachelor of Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1981, Dr. Worthington-Kirsch went on to earn a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Massachusetts Medical School in 1986. In 1990, he completed a residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Mercy Catholic Medical Center. Dr. Worthington-Kirsch is a Diplomate of the American Board of Radiology (Diagnostic Radiology/Interventional Radiology) and of the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine. He holds certificates as a Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation and as a Registered Vascular Technologist through  the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers. He holds unrestricted medical licenses in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the states of New Jersey and Maryland, and the District of Columbia. He has also had medical licenses in the sates of North Carolina, Florida, Washington, California and Georgia.

Throughout the course of his career, Dr. Worthington-Kirsch has received numerous awards and accolades in recognition of his hard work and dedication. He was elected a Fellow of the Society of Interventional Radiology in 2001, of the Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology Society of Europe in 2006, and of the American College of Phlebology in 2014. He received the Editor’s Recognition Award for Distinction in Reviewing Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology in 2007. For his professional achievements, Dr. Worthington-Kirsch has been included in Who’s Who in America.
