Nancy Daggett Jensen has dedicated a half-century to the arts, particularly as a piano instructor. A certified master teacher in music, Ms. Daggett Jensen has shared her musical wisdom throughout Los Altos and the state of California since 1967. She received a piano as a birthday gift at the age of 10, and from that moment Ms. Daggett Jensen discovered her passion of playing the piano for others.

To prepare for a career in the music industry, Ms. Daggett Jensen enrolled at San José State University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in 1964 and a Master of Arts in 1967. In 1972, she served her first of four terms as president of the Los Altos Branch of the Music Teachers Association of California (1972-1974, 1982-1983, 1985-1986, and 1993-1994). Ms. Daggett Jensen is also active in the community as a member of the Steinway Society – The Bay Area, where she has served as an artistic director since 2010 and on the board of the directors since 2015. The society is primarily known for bringing world-class, internationally recognized pianists to the San Francisco peninsula and the South Bay area to play in a setting reminiscent of 19th century salon concerts. In addition to these musical education events, Ms. Daggett Jensen maintains professional affiliations with the California Association of Professional Music Teachers and the Music Teachers’ Association of California (MTAC).

In recognition of her outstanding contributions, Ms. Daggett Jensen was honored with the Master Teacher Award from the Music Teacher National Association in 1991. Furthermore, she has been listed in several editions of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Education and Who’s Who of American Women.
