Dr. Subhash Mahajan always wanted to pursue a career in engineering and conduct research studies. He has certainly achieved his objective as an educator and researcher in electronic materials and sciences. Today, Dr. Mahajan has the privilege of serving as a distinguished professor at the University of California, Davis’ department of chemical engineering and material science. He is also an electronic materials professor at Arizona State University, a role he has held since 1997.
Dr. Mahajan laid the groundwork for his notable career by obtaining a Bachelor of Science with highest honors from Punjab University in India in 1959, a Bachelor of Education in metallurgy with honors from the Indian Institute of Science in 1961, and a Doctor of Philosophy in materials science and engineering from the University of California in 1965. Dr. Mahajan realized his goal in 1961, when he began an assignment as a research assistant and the University of California, Berkeley. For more than a half-century, Dr. Mahajan has lectured and held several professorships in colleges across the U.S. and around the world: Ecole Centrale de Lyon in France, the University of Antwerp in Belgium, the University of Denver, and Carnegie Mellon University.
