Dr. Nicholas Henry has amassed more than 30 years in academia to become a leader in the education industry. Dr. Henry cultivated his expertise in political science through a strong educational foundation. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in government and English from Centre College in 1965 and a Master of Arts in political science from Pennsylvania State University. Additionally, he holds both a Master of Public Administration and a Doctor of Philosophy in political science from Indiana State University.
Dr. Henry joined Georgia Southern University in 1987. Upon retiring, the titles of professor emeritus and president emeritus were bestowed on him. From 1972 to 1987, he served the University of Georgia in a multitude of roles: assistant professor of political science, associate professor, professor, director of the school’s Center of Public Affairs, and dean of the university’s college of public programs. Moreover, he was a visiting assistant professor at the University of New Mexico, instructor of political science at the College of Arts and Sciences at Indiana State University, and director and dean at Arizona State University.
A fellow of the National Academy of Public Administration, Dr. Henry is also the author of “Public Administration and Public Affairs,” where he explains how to “govern efficiently, effectively, and responsibly in an age of political corruption and crises in public finance.” In recognition of his outstanding contributions, Dr. Henry has been listed in several publications, including Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Education, Who’s Who in the South and Southwest and Who’s Who in the World.
