Drawing upon a rich background in law enforcement and investigative work, Steven C. Millwee, CPP, formerly served the Federal Bureau of Investigation as a supervisor of the Confidential Informant Unit, as well as the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office as a homicide detective in the Unsolved Murder Unit. Discovering his knack for drawing confessions out of criminals, he was one of  the first to develop a forensic hypnosis program that helped victims and witnesses of traumatic crimes remember events more clearly. Over time, Mr. Millwee realized there was a significant deficiency in background screenings and sought to improve the profession. Since 1978, he has been the president and chief executive officer of SecurTest Inc., a premier background screening company whose reliability is utilized by various branches of the U.S. government, including the military and the Department of Homeland Security. Since founding the company in 1978, Mr. Millwee invented the patented iReviewNow System and designed over 330 tests that
screen applicants or employees for admitted behaviors.

Recognized as one of the world’s leading experts on workplace violence prevention and intervention, as well as crisis management, Mr. Millwee frequently speaks on issues of background screening, workplace violence, homicide, criminal investigations, interview techniques, and security. During his tenure, he served as an adjunct instructor at St. Petersburg College and the Florida Institute for Law Enforcement, and since 2003, he has been an instructor in security management with the Department of Homeland Security. Demonstrating versatility in his profession, he is also a prolific author, having recently published the article “Sexual Misconduct Investigations—Fact v. Fiction!” in the Security Management Magazine in 2018.

As a testament to his success, Mr. Millwee was inducted into the University of South Florida Hall of Fame in 2013, having previously been named Police Officer of the Year by US Business News in 1970. SecurTest Inc. was additionally named the number one background screening provider by HRO Today for two consecutive years.
