Innately fascinated by law enforcement and government investigations, James “Jim” Brady always desired to work for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (more commonly known as the FBI), beginning in high school. After spending a number of years in Corinth, Mississippi, Mr. Brady was offered a position in the FBI in Washington, D.C. As such, he served as a special fingerprint instructor from 1954 to 1957 before relocating to Memphis, Tennessee, where he excelled in the same capacity until 1987. From 1987 to 1997, Mr. Brady was a special agent in the Governor’s Task Force of the Alcoholic Beverage Commission. Prior to his retirement in 2014, he served as the owner and president of Investigative Services & Technologies Inc.

To prepare for his career, Mr. Brady pursued a formal education at The George Washington University, completing coursework in mathematics. From there, he also completed coursework in basic accounting at La Salle Extension University before receiving a bachelor’s degree from Strayer University in 1960. Receiving dozens of accolades and recognitions throughout his tenure in law enforcement, Mr. Brady attributes much of his present success to the influence of his father, William Brady, who also worked in law enforcement and inspired Mr. Brady to continue his legacy.

Recently authoring the book “FBI, My Days Gone By: 65 Years of Law Enforcement” in 2022, Mr. Brady aims to continue writing in the forthcoming future, bolstered by two unpublished books he hopes to soon release to the public. The proud father of two sons and grandfather of four grandchildren, he also has five great-grandchildren. Mr. Brady presently resides in Tennessee and enjoys trap shooting, skiing and playing recreational games in his leisure time.
