Backed by more than 30 years of professional experience, Grethe Boe has established herself as a leader in the engineering sector. In the 1980s, otherwise regarded as an era during which computing was making its way into every home and workplace, she rose to prominence within her industry as a systems engineer for IBM Norway. During her time at IBM, Ms. Boe specialized in personal computer architecture, computer-to-mainframe communication and local-area networking. She has later obtained expertise in web development. Ms. Boe retired from IBM in 1992 and has been freelancing as a computer consultant and webmaster for clients throughout Gran, Norway. Throughout the course of her career, Ms. Boe has been featured on Norwegian national TV for her expertise.
Passionate about her community, Ms. Boe has served as a board member for numerous local organizations, including the Grymyrgjengen Choir and Theatre Group for Children and Western Gran Sports Club, as well as the Mental Helse and Nordic Association’s Gran chapters. She has also served with the local civic development group Fokus Vestre Gran. In 2013, Ms. Boe served as co-producer and chief information technology officer for the outdoor stage play “Randsfjordspelet.”
Ms. Boe graduated as a Candidata Magisterii from the University of Oslo in 1982. Since entering the field, she has been numerously recognized for her hard work and dedication to her profession. In 1986, Ms. Boe was the recipient of the IBM Professional Excellence Award. In 1988 and 1990, she received the IBM Professional Marketing Award. Most recently, Ms. Boe was named a Lifetime Achiever by Marquis Who’s Who.
