With 20 years of professional experience, Richard Swartz has distinguished himself in the finance sector, currently serving as the chief financial and accounting officer at Slaine Insurance Holdings. Since 2023, he has been responsible for overseeing financial accounting, reporting, analysis and planning functions, including tasks such as raising capital and managing treasury operations. Additionally, Mr. Swartz handles all treasury activities, including institutional bank accounts, operating accounts and investment portfolios across various subsidiaries. Recently, the organization celebrated its annual Stewardship Day, where team members prepared food to assist those in need at a Manhattan church.

Among his many notable achievements, Mr. Swartz is especially proud of his exemplary role at Slaine Insurance Holdings, where he helped expand the team from two individuals to over 30 members in just two years. During this period, he also increased the company’s balance sheet from $300 million to over $1 billion and established three insurance carrier subsidiaries, securing more than $500 million in surplus equity. These ventures – largely developed organically – underscored Mr. Swartz’s ability to turn ideas into reality with the support of private equity investors.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Swartz held finance-related roles at several companies and insurance firms. From 2020 to 2022, he served as principal financial officer, chief accounting officer, treasurer and director at Kingstone Companies and Kingstone Insurance Company, where he also was controller from 2017 to 2020. For the previous three years, he was a senior associate at Baker Tilly Virchow Krause LLP in New York, after being recognized as an associate from 2013 to 2014. Likewise, Mr. Swartz worked as an account director at Informa PLC, managed product marketing and business development at Datamonitor, and served as a regional sales consultant at KLS Martin Group. He began his career in 2006 as a sales representative at Daltile Corporation, in partnership with Nohawk Industries Inc., remaining there until 2008.

With a diverse upbringing, Mr. Swartz grew up in Chicago, Florida and Washington, DC, and spent his high school years in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. After returning to New Jersey, he attended Pennsylvania State University, earning a Bachelor of Science in economics in 2006. Having gained experience in his profession, Mr. Swartz later pursued higher education at Seton Hall University, where he obtained a Master of Business Administration in 2013.

Looking ahead, Mr. Swartz plans to strengthen the team at Slaine Insurance Holdings and attract diverse investors to grow the company’s portfolio and enhance its market presence. He also wants to pursue his interest in coaching. As a proud father of two, he enjoys playing music and watching sports in his free time.
