Leveraging more than 50 years of professional excellence, Thomas Paul Stitt Sr. is well-regarded in the field of law. Since 2002, he has excelled in private practice in Easton, Pennsylvania, where he has counseled clients on civil matters such as taxes, wills, trusts and estates. Earlier in his legal career, Mr. Stitt served with Coffin and DeRaymond in Easton for more than 15 years, having been hired in 1971 as an associate. Later escalating through the ranks to a junior and a senior partner, he witnessed the firm go through changes as Coffin, DeRaymond, Shipman and Stitt and, subsequently, as Coffin, DeRaymond, Shipman, Stitt, Lewis and Walters.
As time progressed, Mr. Stitt also served as a senior partner at Stitt and Cordts in Easton from 1987 to 1994, then excelled in private practice between 1994 and 2000. Following this period, he was a partner at Stitt and Narlesky from 2001 to 2002 before returning to private practice. Lending his legal prowess to his community, he was a solicitor for the Borough of Stockertown, Pennsylvania, from 1974 to 1984 and for the Easton Suburban Water Authority from 1975 to 2006. He also thrived as a senior partner at Star Enterprises Partnerships in Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania, from 1986 to 2000.
Furthermore, Mr. Stitt most recently served with AAA Northampton County as the chairperson between 2004 and 2023, having commenced his tenure with the organization in 1973 as a board member. In 1983, he became a vice president. Previously serving on the board of directors and as vice president of the Northampton Country Club, he was also recognized on the board and as the president of the Easton Public Library, as a board member and president of State Theater Inc., and as the vice president of the Jewett Family of America. Moreover, Mr. Stitt was a solicitor, director and chairperson of the Lehigh Valley chapter of the American Red Cross and a trustee, elder and clerk-of-session of the First Presbyterian Church in Easton.
Supported by an advanced education, which includes a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Southern Methodist University and admittance before the Supreme Court of the United States, Mr. Stitt has been honored on several occasions. To wit, he earned the Silver Key Award from the American Bar Association in 1968, having also received the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award in 2024 and selected for inclusion in Sports Illustrated and The Wall Street Journal. Notably, Mr. Stitt was inducted into the Lehigh Valley Golf Hall of Fame for his excellence in golf.
