Supported by two decades of professional excellence, Dr. Monib A. Zirvi thrives in the fields of dermatology and medical research. Since 2004, he has served in a myriad of positions, including as a dermatologist at Summit Health in Berkeley Heights, New Jersey, an attending dermatologist at Overlook Medical Center with the Atlantic Health Group, and an adjunct clinical instructor at Weill Cornell Medicine in New York City. After graduating with dual Doctor of Philosophy and Doctor of Medicine degrees from Weill Cornell Medicine in 2000, Dr. Zirvi completed an internship at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in 2001 and a residency in dermatology at the University of Pennsylvania in 2004.

Outside of his primary appointments in dermatology, Dr. Zirvi contributes meaningfully to his community. Since 2004, he has served as chair of the alumni schools committee for Northern Middlesex County at Princeton University. In addition, he maintains affiliation with the Summit Health Foundation, AmFAR, Phi Beta Kappa and Tai Beta Pi. Notably, he is recognized as an associate member of the American Academy of Dermatology.

At the inception of his collegiate studies and career, Dr. Zirvi initially sought to enter the field of computer science. He went on to graduate summa cum laude from Princeton University with a Bachelor of Science in engineering in 1993. However, after discovering his propensity for research methodologies and interest in health care, he pivoted his career trajectory to dermatology. To this end, Dr. Zirvi holds more than 10 patents in his field and has been an investigator in research projects on diagnostics for cancer detection via DNA. Furthermore, he has lent his expertise to numerous journal articles, including serving as a co-author of “Acquired Perforating Calcific Collagenosis After Topical Calcium Chloride Exposure” in the Journal of Cutaneous Pathology in 2010 and a co-author of “A Rapidly Growing Tumor and Dome-Shaped Yellow Papules on the Face” in Archives of Dermatology in 2005.

In the coming years, Dr. Zirvi endeavors to continue working with Weill Cornell Medicine in one of their laboratories in light of his desire to contribute to innovations and advancements in science. In accounting for his success, he credits his hard work and dedication. Moreover, he is immensely humbled by the support of his parents, Dr. Karimullah Zirvi and Mrs. Amutal Latif Zirvi, who instilled in Dr. Zirvi the significance of education. Additionally, he is grateful for his wife, Shazia Zirvi, and his four children: Usman, Aleena, Saif and Armaan. Dr. Zirvi has earned several accolades in recognition of his research prowess.
