Possessing a longstanding career that has spanned nearly five decades, Dr. Daniel E. Jolly is an award-winning name in the field of forensic dentistry. Since 2000, he has served as the chief forensic odontologist for the Franklin and Licking Counties Coroner’s Offices, where he also provides consultative services to legal trials and expert witness testimonies. Earlier in his career, he served in several capacities at various dental offices, insurance companies and academic institutions, including as an associate professor, full professor and the director of the general practice residency program at The Ohio State University between 1987 and 2008. Dr. Jolly also served as a dental director for a local insurance company, the chief of restorative dentistry at the Truman Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri, the director of dental oncology at Trinity Lutheran Hospital, and the president of ImmediaDent of Ohio, among other roles.

Drawing upon a Bachelor of Arts in biology and chemistry and a Doctor of Dental Surgery, both from the University of Missouri, Kansas City, Dr. Jolly completed a residency in hospital dentistry at the Leavenworth VA Medical Center in Kansas between 1977 and 1978. Expanding the scope of his professional reach, he has also served as a highly sought-after speaker on medical and forensic dentistry and authored several books, such as “OSU Manual of Hospital Dentistry” in 1989, “Nursing Home Dentistry” and “Dental Oncology” in 1986, “Hospital Dentistry” in 1985 and “Hospital Dental Hygiene” in 1984. Contributing to civic initiatives as well, Dr. Jolly has excelled as the director of the Honduras Clinic Project since 1992 and is a past board director of the Easter Seal Society.

In light of his outstanding undertakings, Dr. Jolly has received several accolades. Featured in The Wall Street Journal, he was also the recipient of several Alumni Achievement Awards from the University of Missouri, Kansas City, from 1994 to 1998 and the Humanitarian Award from the Ohio Dental Association in 1998. Notably, Dr. Jolly is a fellow of the American College of Dentistry, the Academy of Dentistry for the Handicapped, the Academy of General Dentistry and the American Association of Hospital Dentists. He was selected for inclusion in numerous editions of Who’s Who in the World, Who’s Who in America, and Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare. In the coming years, Dr. Jolly aims to become more devoted to higher education, as he wishes to share his wealth of knowledge with prospective dental practitioners and other medical students.
