Drawing upon nearly 10 years of professional experience, Louis Donato Tate has served as the co-owner of Luigi’s Ristorante & Catering of Clymer and Luigi’s Pizzeria since 2014. A family-owned and operated Italian restaurant that was founded by his father and uncle in Indiana County, Pennsylvania, in 1984, along with Luigi’s Pizzeria in 1988, the family owns two sister locations in DuBois, Pennsylvania, titled Luigi’s Ristorante & Catering and Luigi’s Villa Banquet Center.
Notably, Mr. Tate has thrived as the co-owner of the operation, having focused his efforts on ensuring a positive customer experience through providing premier service and quality homemade food at the restaurant and catering company. Among his myriad of responsibilities, he is also highly involved in the kitchen, preparing meals from scratch, managing company operations and marketing, conducting meetings to address safety and quality assurance, and implementing improvement systems to meet the needs of both employees and customers alike. He attributes a great deal of his current success to the influence of his father, who allowed him to work at a young age to cultivate a diligent work ethic and strong communication skills.
Outside of his primary endeavors, Mr. Tate has excelled as the managing partner of Teti Holdings Inc. in Clymer since 2022. The same year, he hybrid-published his first book, titled “The Luigi Way: Benedictine Values Proven Effective in Leadership” through New Degree Press. Impressively, the book has sold nearly 2,000 copies, with an audiobook version to be available soon. In light of his book’s success, Mr. Tate has been invited to speak publicly at area hospitals and universities about his company’s leadership philosophy.
To prepare for his career, Mr. Tate received a Bachelor of Science in business administration, with a minor in operational excellence from Saint Vincent College in 2018. During this time, he also completed a study abroad program in Spanish at the Costa Rican Language Academy. Likewise, he completed a class on authorship at Georgetown University in 2022. Mr. Tate holds credentials as a certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and a ServSafe certification.
Looking toward the future, Mr. Tate intends to establish a management consulting company that will teach other restaurant executives the tools, applications and methodologies of Lean Six Sigma, with the intent of aiding a highly volatile industry with the tools they need to operate more efficiently. He also aims to expand the scope of his family’s restaurant by selling their exclusive spaghetti sauce and other products in markets and grocery stores across Pennsylvania.
